WoW: Forever stress test moved to October 21

· by Davina Asaria

Not in the beta? Here is your chance to have a look before launch: WoW: Forever gets a stress test on Wednesday October 21.

Update October 16: moved to October 21

Blizzard moved the stress test two days later. It is no longer on Monday October 19, but on Wednesday October 21, same time.

Time and details

  • The stress test starts on Wednesday October 21 at 19:00 CEST for the EU region.
  • Every player with a WoW account can join. No subscription needed.
  • That day the beta goes offline first, and WoW: Forever opens on the real launch hardware.
  • It runs from 19:00 until 03:00 CEST. Make a character, do some quests, trade, chat and group up, that is exactly what Blizzard wants to test.
  • Afterwards all characters are deleted, names included. It is a complete wipe, and then the beta opens again.

How to join

  • Open the Battle.net launcher and go to World of Warcraft.
  • In the game version list you will find a new option: WoW: Forever - Stress Test.
  • Select it and you can already download the client, so you are ready when the test opens.

A stress test is meant to put as many players as possible on the servers at the same time, so Blizzard can see how they hold up before launch. Expect queues, lag or a crash now and then: that is exactly what they are testing.

Good to know

  • After the stress test the beta opens one last time, and closes for good on Friday October 23 at 19:00 CEST.
  • Launch is on November 4.

What this means for Legends of Azeroth

A great moment to log in together and get a first taste! Wednesday at 19:00, let us know in Discord if you join, then we can group up. Just don't get attached to your name: it is gone again afterwards.
