World of Warcraft: Forever launches November 4

Blizzard has officially announced World of Warcraft: Forever, a brand new permanent version of WoW that lives next to the modern game and Classic. This is the game our guild is built for, so here is what you need to know.

Key dates

  • Beta: starts September 17.
  • Launch: November 4, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PST. For us in Europe that is Thursday November 5 at 00:00 server time, so the night from Wednesday to Thursday.
  • Forever is included with a regular WoW subscription or Game Time.

Roadmap for 2026 and 2027

  • Beta, September 17 to October 22: play up to level 30.
  • October 27: early name reservation and character creation. Grab your name!
  • November 4: launch.
  • December 9: the raids unlock: Barrow Deeps (10 players), Hyjal Summit (20 players) and Onyxia's Lair (40 players).
  • Winter: World of Warcraft: Forever Hardcore launches.
  • Spring: major update with 2 new raids (10 and 20 players), 2 new dungeons, new quests and a new playable area, a new legendary questline and a PvP season refresh.
  • Summer: major update with a revamped iconic raid, a new raid, expanded world content, 2 new dungeons, a PvP season refresh and profession and legacy updates.

Blizzard notes that more news will follow and that content and timing can still change based on player feedback.

A new take on the old world

Forever is set after the events of Warcraft III: Reforged's Forsaken Kingdom and before Molten Core. You level to 60 in a reimagined version of the original Azeroth. Blizzard puts the journey itself first: exploring the world and playing together matter as much as reaching the end.

A new race: the Skyborne

The Skyborne are a new playable race with their own starting experience on Zephras Isle.

  • Skyborne Heroic Pack: access to the Skyborne race, a ground mount, cosmetic items and one invite code.
  • Skyborne Epic Pack: everything in the Heroic Pack, plus beta access, 30 days of Game Time and three invite codes.
  • Warcraft Forever Collection (limited time): everything above, plus Warcraft III: Reforged.

There is also a physical Collector's Edition in the Blizzard Gear Store, while supplies last.
