Those datamined mounts and transmog are not coming to WoW: Forever

· by Davina Asaria

Dataminers dug through the latest WoW: Forever beta build and found a batch of new models: mounts, pets, a toy and transmog sets. Many of them looked a lot like modern retail cosmetics, and plenty of players worried they would not fit the Classic feel of Forever.

What was found

  • A wolf mount that seems to let your party members ride along on wolves of their own.
  • A pet that changes its look with the seasons.
  • A toy for camping that changes the look of your tent.
  • Two transmog ensembles, one of them a Blademaster set, plus a separate totem back piece.

What Blizzard says

Community Manager Kaivax responded quickly: Blizzard appreciates the feedback and discussion, but these assets are not intended for this version of World of Warcraft.

That happens more often. Several versions of WoW share the same files, so models for one version can show up in the data of another. Which version these are meant for, Blizzard did not say.

What this means for Legends of Azeroth

No flashy retail mounts in Forever, at least not these. Good news for everyone who wants Azeroth to keep its Classic look.
