Past level 30: Blizzard shows the road to 60 in WoW: Forever
After "Your Adventure Begins" for levels 1 to 30, Blizzard now shows what comes next. In Your Leveling Journey Past 30 you follow the road from level 30 to 60, through two brand new zones: the Riverglades and Mount Hyjal.
The Riverglades
You arrive in the Riverglades around level 36. The zone builds on factions from Warcraft's past, and each side gets its own story.
- Horde: you meet the Boulderrock ogres, a clan that once served the Twilight's Hammer. They have enemies on every side, including their old masters, who hold a fortress close by.
- Alliance: you find the Brotherhood of the Horse, straight out of Warcraft II. These knights of Stormwind fought at Blackrock Mountain, then ignored their orders to hunt down the Horde raiders who were attacking undefended Alliance lands. What is left of them holds out in Farhold Keep.
- Both factions end up fighting the Twilight's Hammer.
- Around that main story there is plenty more: taking down a pirate operation, rescuing a horse, and someone called Jom-Jom.
- Deep in ogre territory waits The Bloodmasters Ring, a fighting ring in the style of the old Ring of Blood, where you take on the ogres' best brawlers one by one.
Mount Hyjal
Hyjal is the climax of your leveling journey.
- For the first time since the Third War, the road into Hyjal is open again. You help the Druids of the Talon and the rest of the Cenarion Circle rebuild.
- Horde and Alliance have been forced to live side by side in an uneasy truce, and now that the gates are open the tension is rising again.
- A crow uncovers something sinister, with ties to the Wild King.
- Hyjal is also home to the new 10 player raid Barrow Deeps: a prison that once held Azeroth's most infamous betrayer.
What you see
Over six minutes the video travels across both continents: highlands where Alliance and Horde troops clash, sun-baked red canyons full of ogres and war camps, a pirate coast at sunset, dark tunnels and heavy dungeon gates, misty forests and fel-tainted woods with glowing green water, a look at the map of Kalimdor and a shrine high up in the mountains, and a Warlock showing off fel fire. It ends on November 4, and pre-purchase is open now on Battle.net.
What this means for Legends of Azeroth
As Horde we get the ogre side of the Riverglades story, and the fighting ring sounds like a great guild evening. And Mount Hyjal is where the leveling ends and our first raid begins: Barrow Deeps opens on December 9. Missed the first part?
