Last day of the beta: a 24 hour celebration and an end of beta podcast

· by Davina Asaria

The WoW: Forever beta is almost over: it closes Friday October 23 at 19:00 CEST. Blizzard says goodbye in style.

24 hours of madness in the starting zones

Until the beta closes, Blizzard celebrates with 24 hours of "shenanigans and upheaval" in the starting zones:

  • Durotar, Tirisfal Glades and Mulgore
  • Elwynn Forest, Dun Morogh and Teldrassil
  • Zephras Isle

Log into the beta one last time, go to one of these zones and see what happens.

Update: Blizzard president Johanna Faries let slip that the world bosses Azuregos and Kazzak show up. Players also found that many monsters now drop only epics, and that vendors sell potions for triple experience. Note: the items and surprises of this one time party are not part of WoW: Forever after launch.

Podcast episode 5: End of Beta Special

In the fifth episode host Countdown to Classic sits down with Josh "Aggrend" Greenfield, associate production director Clay Stone, lead software engineer Ana Resendez and lead encounter designer Michael Nuthals, with special guest Meeix, for a roundtable about the whole beta. They also promised a heatmap of player deaths.

What this means for Legends of Azeroth

Still have beta access? Log in tonight or tomorrow before 19:00 and join the party in Durotar, Tirisfal or Mulgore. After that it's waiting for name reservation on October 27 and launch on November 4.
