Horde in Dalaran: open after the dungeon, but not for long?
Big surprise on the WoW: Forever beta: after the new City of Dalaran dungeon, the city of Dalaran itself, until now thought to be Alliance only, turned out to be open to the Horde too. A few hours later Blizzard stepped in.
How Horde got in
- Finish the Horde attunement chain up to Heart of Disruption, which gives you the Dalaran Sewer Key. (Our guide to the attunement: https://legendsofazeroth.com/news/how-to-get-attuned-to-the-city-of-dalaran-dungeon-as-horde)
- Clear the City of Dalaran dungeon and loot the Arcane Mote from the Shade of the Archmage.
- Take the Mote into the city for the quest Shrewd Negotiations. The guards that used to attack you are now neutral and let any Horde player who beat the Archmage pass.
- Hand in the quest to Archmage Celindra, and you can roam the whole city.
What you can do there
Many citizens let you in but won't help you. Still, you can buy arrows, food and drink, train your Mage spells, swap your Hunter pet at the stables, and of course: throw coins in the Dalaran fountain.
Blizzard: not really intended
Senior Game Designer Josh "Aggrend" Greenfield said on X that the Horde having full access to Dalaran is not really intended, and that they will look at it. The Horde earning Kirin Tor reputation is also a bug: it is already fixed internally, and that fix comes with next week's build.
What this means for Legends of Azeroth
On the beta you can still take a look around Dalaran as Horde, but don't count on it staying that way at launch.
