Check your graphics card before WoW: Forever

· by Davina Asaria

World of Warcraft: Forever gets a new visual look, and that needs a graphics feature that GPUs only got around 2012. Very old graphics cards will no longer be supported, so check yours before launch night.

Minimum GPU generation

Your graphics card needs to be at least one of these generations (or newer):

  • AMD: Graphics Core Next 1 (2012). For example the Radeon HD 7850.
  • NVIDIA: Maxwell (2014). For example the GeForce GTX 750, 750 Ti and the GTX 900 series.
  • Intel: Skylake (2015). For example Intel HD Graphics 530.

Cards that will not work include the Radeon HD 6950, the GeForce GTX 760, 770 and 780, and Intel HD Graphics 6000.

Keep in mind that these are only the oldest cards that can start the game at all. They are still well below the recommended minimum system requirements, which you can find on the Battle.net Shop.

How to check your graphics card

On Windows, pick one:

  • Open Settings, go to System, then Display, then Advanced display. Your graphics card is listed there.
  • Or open Device Manager and expand Display adapters.

Most players already have a card that works. Not sure about yours? Ask in our Discord and we will help you out.
